Det är varken lön eller bonusar som driver motivationen, menar 
organisationskonsulten Anna Russberg, en av talarna på Forskardagen.

Alla företagsledare vill ha medarbetare vars motivation omsätts i prestation. Men hur lyckas man med det? Psykologen Anna Russberg vet vad som krävs. Det som driver människor är positiv förstärkning, säger hon.

Näringslivet är inte medvetet om detta eftersom det kan vara svårt att förstå. För många kan det till och med kännas konstlat. Man är inte van vid positiv förstärkning.

Framgången för sociala medier är ett exempel på den positiva förstärkningens makt. Vi lägger upp en bild på en god middag och får uppskattande kommentarer av våra vänner. Ett liknande fenomen uppstår när vi spelar datorspel. När vi gör något bra får vi omedelbart positiv feedback, vilket uppmuntrar oss att spela vidare.

Det hade inte fungerat lika bra om vi hade fått vänta i tre dagar, då hade vi tröttnat, säger Anna, och tangerar ett ämne som hon kommer prata om på Forskardagen: Bonusar och löner. Ingetdera är rätt verktyg för att skapa motivation hos medarbetarna.

Ingen går runt och känner sig motiverad för lönens skull. Däremot kan man bli omotiverad om man har för låg lön. Man ska inte tjäna så lite att man blir arg. Får man löneökning blir man glad initialt men det är inte avgörande för motivationen. Lön får man oavsett om man presterat bra eller dåligt.
